Introducing…Clive Christian Interiors Edinburgh

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve opened a new showroom in Edinburgh. This wonderful city has held an important place in Clive Christian’s brand story being the location for our first Scottish showroom in 1989. We’re excited to be back and to delve further into the buzzing world of Scottish interior design. The new showroom can be found at 14 Braid Road set within the prestigious area of Morningside. We caught up with David Harrison, Director of Clive Christian Scotland, to hear more about the latest launch and discover a few best kept Edinburgh secrets.

Can you share a little about the decision to come back to Edinburgh and what it means to you?

When we left Edinburgh in 2009, we always said we would be back. Edinburgh is where I was born, where my Father started the business, and where many of my dearest memories are. It’s a real mecca for interior design so we are delighted to be back, and excited for what the future holds.

What can clients expect from the new showroom?

The showroom includes everything from our bestselling statement designs to our latest contemporary collections. Of course we have an iconic architectural kitchen, but with a slightly more transitional twist. We decided to go with a beautiful Inchyra Blue island which makes it feel very homely. There is also a magnificent bar made from Cool Walnut timber.

What is your favourite feature of the new showroom?

I love the Forth Rail Bridge marquetry design on the Opus cabinetry in the bathroom. Such a hidden gem in there which really shows where our bespoke service can take client projects.

What does luxury mean to you?

Luxury is all in the experience for me. Being surrounded by beautiful materials and exquisite design has its own joy and good design should bring a lasting and timeless joy.

What is your favourite Edinburgh restaurant?

Having young children means we don’t often get to dine in the places I would like to, but I particularly enjoy small family restaurants like Domenico’s in Leith.

Any best-kept Edinburgh secrets for us?

In my former life I skied with the Scottish team and so spent a lot of time in the Pentland hills. These are so easily accessed and explored from Edinburgh, but many don’t make it there. Try it, the views across Edinburgh and beyond to Fife are stunning.

What is your favourite way to spend a Sunday?

I’m a Christian, so for me a Sunday morning is best enjoyed in church and then the afternoon would be enjoyed in the outdoors with family and friends. Ideally skiing if the forecast allows!
